Hello,
The Global Business Center (home of UW CIBER), at the University of Washington, is pleased to announce the availability of travel reimbursement grants to support participation in faculty development or research conferences or workshops with the purpose of building global business expertise.
Eligible activities and expenses:
* Participation in faculty development or research conferences related to International Business, for example:
o CIBER Faculty Development in International Business (FDIB)<https://us-ciberweb.org/faculty-development-in-international-business/> programs
* FDIB Africa, Namibia & South Africa. Program University of South Carolina<https://sc.edu/study/colleges_schools/moore/research_and_centers/centers/ciber/fdib/index.php> CIBER. June 6- 22, 2025
* FDIB Costa Rica. San Jose, Arenal, & TBD. 2025 FDIB Costa Rica Interest Form.<https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeODQrGPdo-nAqzboSGS3cPNN3c3PZTEguRDOlmD9JXysv3hw/viewform> June 15-23, 2025.
* International Virtual Exchange Conference. https://iveconference.org/
* Travel outside the U.S., under the following conditions: 1) travel must be on a U.S. carrier; 2) If the grant is approved, UW CIBER is required to get U.S. government approval for the international travel request. Approval is subject to any travel restrictions by the US Department of Education and the University of Washington. As such, all international travel requests must be submitted at least 2 months prior to date of travel.
* Reimbursement of airfare, accommodations and registration fees.
* Opportunities for faculty to prepare for Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL<http://www.coil.suny.edu/>) or virtual exchange are encouraged. This includes: Training workshops/conferences, partner meetings etc. To learn more about COIL, Please find the attached file and attend information sessions scheduled for February 14 and February 19, 2025.
Faculty Eligibility:
* Business faculty at colleges and universities in the Northwestern U.S (Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Alaska and Montana)
* Due to U.S. government guidelines, only faculty at U.S. colleges and universities may apply
* University of Washington faculty from the Seattle campus are not eligible to apply
* UW Tacoma and UW Bothell campus faculty may apply (subject to certain payroll restrictions)
* An individual may submit only one proposal, but multiple faculty from a school may apply
Size of Awards:
Average award size is $2,000; Awards may be up to $4,000 per person
Conditions:
* Awards will be announced via email by March 31st , 2025 and are subject to federal funding availability.
* Payment will be processed upon receipt of travel expense documentation.
* A post-program summary is required within one month of completion. This summary should include how you incorporate learnings into curriculum or research. If you traveled to present research, please include where, when, and what you presented.
* All expense documentation and additional material must be submitted by August 15, 2025, to Kahyun Cho kcho24 at uw.edu<mailto:kcho24 at uw.edu>
