[Niben] NIBEN 2025 Curriculum Development Grants Request for Proposals

Hello,

The Foster Global Business Center (home of UW CIBER) at the University of Washington is pleased to announce the availability of curriculum development grants for projects that build global business expertise.

Proposals that will be considered:
Proposals for global business curriculum development including teaching materials, case studies, videos, new courses, etc. We encourage proposals related to regional companies and issues, and those which are suitable for use at educational institutions throughout the Pacific Northwest. Applications that include Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL<http://www.coil.suny.edu/>) or virtual exchange elements are encouraged. To learn more about COIL, Please find the attached file and attend information sessions scheduled for February 14 and February 19, 2025.

Eligibility:

* Grants are available to business educators at colleges and universities in the northwestern U.S. (Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, and Alaska).

* Grant funds are restricted to faculty at U.S. institutions only. University of Washington faculty members from the Seattle campus are not eligible to apply.

* UW Tacoma and UW Bothell campus faculty may apply (subject to certain payroll restrictions).

* Only one proposal will be accepted per individual, but more than one proposal can be made from the same institution.

Size of Awards:
Awards of up to $4,000 are available.

Use of Funds:

* Funds may be used for:

* Faculty compensation, if the faculty member is not being paid already for the project
* Compensation of individuals assisting the faculty member
* Travel expenditures related to the project, and subject to travel restrictions and pre-approval
* Purchase of data/software/materials/supplies (not to include computers or other equipment)

* Funds may not be used for:

* Faculty research activities
* Faculty salaries (except as noted above)

Conditions:

* Awards will be announced via email by March 31st, 2025 and are subject to federal funding availability.

* Payment will be processed upon receipt of project expense documentation and any additional materials outlined in the award email.

* All expense documentation and additional material must be submitted by August 15, 2025 to Kahyun Cho kcho24 at uw.edu<mailto:kcho24 at uw.edu>

Submission Process:
Deadline: March 17th, 2025 (5pm PDT)

Requirements:
Complete the following questionnaire and submit the supporting documents listed below:

* Project description, maximum of four pages, double-spaced
o Consider addressing:

* Feasibility
* Furthering international business expertise within your institution or region; other anticipated outcomes
* Is this an existing course or program, or something new? When will the course or program be implemented?
* Anticipated course enrollment and benefit to students
* Support from your institution
* Deliverable(s) you plan to develop as part of this award.
* Detailed project timeline
* A one-page itemized budget

Note: A typical grant does not fund 100% of the project. In your description, please list additional sources of funding and support you have obtained or are applying for.

* A brief resume or CV of each principal person involved in the project
* If you have received a NIBEN grant for this project in the past, please describe how an additional grant will expand upon your previous project.
