"We live in a post-industrial neoliberal capitalist world that neglects the social determinants by undermining democratic processes and exerting the rights of capital and unregulated markets. Income inequalities and other social injustices persist and grow. From this perspective, ensuring the quality of social determinants such as access to secure employment, wages and social protections, affordable decent housing, among others, requires a fundamental shift in public policy to collectivist responses away from the market-driven neoliberalism that currently dominates political systems."
