[UW-GIS-L] Creating separate ArcGIS account for RSO

You can create a shared NETID with UW IT. However, why would you do this when you can create shared update groups on AGOL and transfer ownership to successors when appropriate? Shared authentication resources like shared NETID’s are very much frowned upon by the IT community these days and I expect at some point ESRI will prohibit their use on AGOL.

Hello,

I am writing on behalf of UW Solar, an RSO and university lab that is working on a Tri-campus-wide plan for solar energy development. The organization is seeking a way to obtain an ArcGIS account for the administration, management, and publication of all of our GIS-related projects and data.

Is it possible to create a single dedicated ArcGIS account under the name of UW Solar? Any assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated.
