[statnet_help] GWESP drops overtime using STERGM fitted with edges
dissolution approximation method

Dear Statnet group,
Hope you are all doing well.
As part of our modeling work, we are struggling to fit a STERGM to cross-sectional + duration data that includes a GWESP target. We originally used the edges dissolution approximation method, and see GWESP drop precipitously in simulated networks over time (we are using monthly time steps). We have not been able to get the model to finish running using the full STERGM (without the approximation). Increasing simulation time horizon by using a smaller timestep (eg., daily) results in an improved fit using the approximation method, but this approach would present computational challenges if we needed to run the simulation at daily timesteps.
Do you have suggestions on how we could address this issue (maybe changes to settings that would help the full STERGM to finish, or workarounds for the approximation)?
Thank you so much.
Best,
Lin
