Hi everyone,

About a year ago, I shared on the S+T at UW list that I once met one of my
closest collaborators on a listserv.

Perhaps that warm feeling of experiencing life leap off email to touch my
world is one of the reasons I like listservs and emails.* And they seem to
work. I felt that when several of you introduced yourselves in person at
Ada’s Technical Bookstore on Monday for Ryan Calo's wonderful talk on
technology and law, you mentioned these posts and that was a moment when
connections leaped off the list again. Thank you for reading and showing
up. This is for you!

That brings me to why I'm posting.

I’d like to invite you to *Save the Date — Monday, January 12, 2026, at
5:30 PM* at a *TBD location in the greater Seattle area* for a conversation
and mixer on *Power and Paradox*, in honor of the first anniversary of the
launch of Society + Technology at UW!

There’s more to come, and that I get to write this feels like a hopeful,
reassuring message to share as 2025 draws to a close.
